As you know by now Boo and I like a trip to IKEA every now and again. We don't generally go for the shopping, though I never leave empty handed.
Reasons we *heart* IKEA
- Boo loves the kids lunch meal
- Boo loves the play area
- I love the hour of FREE childcare
- I love the peace and quiet of browsing child-free
- Its a cheaper and quieter option than the indoor playground
- I can walk there in less than 5 minutes with a toddler in tow (but I don't)
- I always find something I can't live without
- I always run into someone I've been meaning to catch up with forever
- I love that the ice-cream Boo asks for on the way out, only costs 30 cents
- Boo loves that she is allowed to have an ice-cream
Today I was armed with a gift voucher... I nearly chose something I can't live without, but instead (since it was a gift voucher) I got something I wanted.

Now this is really weird! I just - 2 minutes ago - saw a report on TV on IKEA´s best tricks!!
And the cheap food and childcare and all the nippes you can get certainly were amongst them!
Today I also traded IKEA-watering cans with my customer!
Oh, I just love IKEA, too. It´s in my town, too, but I have to drive there by car and am glad for that! Yikes, if I lived 5 walking minutes from there, I´d needed a bigger apartment long ago - you have my respect for resisting!!
Oh, my... Nippes is knickknack, btw (I thought it´s also an English word...)!
Other tricks were the Scandinavian names that give a special atmosphere and how they decorate everything so nicely... that´s done for us women! :-)

Can I simply visit Ikea vicariously through you?? Cause I have to admit, it freaks me right out... I have a panic attack whenever I go near the joint. I like the gear though, and wish I could buy it online...
Of course, it might be the old claustrophobia setting in?

hmmm - well over a 15 minute walk - or even plane ride - for us to anything resembling an Ikea.
I can try Bunnings and pretend, but Bunnings just don't do the whole Swedish philosophy for me.
Good coffee? We like our brew.

Jeanie - I love my brew too :) I live a 5 minute walk from Bunnings also, and if I'm not in IKEA, I'll be in Bunnings :)

I *heart* IKEA. You know I do. I'm glad ours is not a 5 minute walk away or otherwise I'd be there every day.
