It came. It went.

Well there it goes for another year, and by Monday all trace of the celebration will be cleared away except for the memories and the new toys!

Christmas Eve was spent with the select family members. Boo, her cousins and her 2nd cousins had an absolute ball, and their great grandmother, Omi had a wonderful time watching them. The two generations sandwiched in between had a very pleasant evening, relaxing and chatting. Boo and her cousin, Bella provided the evenings entertainment as the two littlest, and most excited children!

Despite all the anticipation of Santa's arrival, Boo did not arise before 9am Christmas morning. Santa brought everything she asked for (two toy kittens and lollies) and more, and mummy gave her the long wished for Dora the Explorer dressing table.

Christmas Day was spent at my parents with my step-fathers side of the family. There was the inaugural Christmas Day cricket match at the park across the street, complete with two little WAGS - wives and girlfriends of players (in this case, they were the pram patrol toddlers)!

Finally, I am enjoying an evening of nothingness at home.

Christmas Spirit

We've been busy over here at the Me & Boo house.

First we made and bagged thirty sachets of Reindeer Food for all our little friends (including those we Boo didn't want to give them to at daycare).

Thanks H&B for the inspiration ;-)

Today, I've been busy whipping up some Cointreau Balls

And boxing them up...

I also started the master of all treats . I just need my little hindrance helper to do some work tomorrow.

Want to guess???

I will try and share it with you tomorrow but our festivities begin... being of German descent and all. Otherwise I'll share it with you in a couple of days!

Merry Christmas to you all. Hoping you all have a fabulous time!

Love Me & Boo xxxx

Christmas Pageant

I made a promise to Boo a couple of weeks ago, a promise I regretted when the alarm bleeped in my ear at 7.00am on this Sunday morning. Boo wasn't impressed with the alarm either. Neither of us venture out of bed very early if we don't have to. We are NOT morning people!

Off we went to the Christmas Pageant, which moved from a Saturday night for the past 19 years to a Sunday morning this year. Though it does beat the 12 years, I was in the pageant when it was at 2.00pm (in the heat of the day)!

In my day there was cute little dancing girls!

Mark Holden as Prince Charming

Now I haven't been since my last appearance... but it doesn't seem as full of little dancing girls as it once was, and the floats are now corporately sponsored. Regardless, there was a little girl who had a marvelous time.

What is Boo riding?

Yes, its a camel! Hmmm, remember back to last month when she wouldn't get within 10 feet of a camel? Safety in numbers I suppose?

We finished the day with Boo and her cousin, Bella decorating grandma and papa's christmas tree.

Santa Phobia

Boo and I went into the city for the first time in um... maybe ever for Boo??? I knew the Christmas decorations were up so that prompted the visit.

We went into Myers to look at wreath's for the front door and found that Santa was already here! Not only that but they had a FREE play area with train rides through Santa's cave on the Santa Express. After Boo had ridden the Santa Express, she asked to go and see Santa to get a photo for Grandma and Papa.

Boo has a Santa Phobia. What a girl, facing her phobia head on!

Santa was not visible, he was in the other Santa cave. Last year, Boo would become hysterical if you came within 50 feet of a Santa. Her heart would race, she would become clammy and she would hyperventilate. Shopping last December was terrible and required lots of strategic planning to avoid any visualisation of the red suited one!

We dutifully lined up. I think hidden in the cave must have been at least three Santa's. (Hooray Myer for reducing child waiting times)!

Boo's turn came! We followed Santa's elf into the cave and into Santa's room, where Rudolph was snoring peacefully on the floor at his feet, and the big man himself was seated in his big chair.

The breathing sped up, and fear was visible in her eyes but she stood by the door just a couple of metres from the man in the red suit, and told him quietly that she would like two kittens and some lollies for Christmas, and then turned to the door and said to me "Lets go now"

My mum has photos of me and my brother sitting on Santa's knee every year from our first Christmases, until way after we stopped believing.

Check out my brother's outfit!!! I would cry too if I was dressed like that!
