Sixth and Sixth

Guera tagged me for this meme back in November. Finally here I am doing it, because as busy as we've been this past week I have nothing blogworthy for you!

All you have to do, if you wish to join in, is post the 6th photo in the 6th folder on your computer (or Flickr account or phone or wherever you keep your photos).

My photos are filed chronologically, so this one is from way back in June 2004.

It's the Temple of Artemis in Jerash, Jordan (or what remains of the Temple which was built in about 150 AD).

I highly recommend Jordan as a tourist destination if you ever have the opportunity. Making up a part of 'The Holy Land' not only are there the numerous ancient Greco-Roman ruins, the Nabotean ruins of Petra, the deserted castles of the Crusades, the biblical sites (for both Christians and Muslims) which include Mt Nebo, Madaba and the River of Jordan (where Jesus is thought to have been baptised by John the Baptist), there is the Dead Sea, Aqaba, and of course Wadi Rum where Lawrence of Arabia hung out.

I 'HEART' Jordan

Funny you mentioned this today as I saw on another (photo) blog the great temple in Jordan. Weird huh? It definitely looks like a 'must visit'. Thanks for the heads up on that one...

You sure have seen heaps of places! Great perspective in the pic, too!

Great photo! Petra was on my wishlist to visit when we were in Saudi but we never got there. :(

It is an amazing photo - are they trees growing at the top?

I had a girlfriend living in Jordan for quite some time - she loved it!

Melody - You should definately go to Jordan - even if you only get to Petra it is well worth the experience

Iris - One of the joys of living in the Middle East!

Guera - It's such a shame you never got to Petra while you were that close. You are not the only middle-east dweller I know that regrets never going to Petra despite wishing to!

Rhubarb & Tiff - Cheers! Surprisingly good since its from my little 2.0 MegaPixel, limited zoom Casio Exilim

Jeanie - No trees on top!!! Just stock standard Corinthian columns.

Jen - I'm guessing Israel or Egypt as being 'this close', I ruled out Iraq and Saudi as the other 'this close' places :-)

I was tagged by that meme ...coincidentally by Jen and I still haven't done it.

Great picture and perspective.

I would like to go to Jordan and other significant Holy Land places but I am too chicken.
